Testing Dirtsack Longranger Pros on the Pamir Highway
The Pamir Highway traverses the Pamir Mountains through Afghanistan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan in Central Asia, and was once part of the ancient Silk Road trade route.
Alan Quinby and his KTM are flying to Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan next week where they’ll begin a journey along some of the famous road to test the Dirtsack Longranger Pro panniers.
The Longranger Pros provide 48 litres of top-loaded luggage capacity, with six external pockets. The roll-top main compartments include 100% waterproof drybag inserts. Although Alan’s expecting fine and dry conditions for the most part, the climate in the remote mountains can change dramatically and with little warning. The weatherproof design of the Longranger Pro panniers will certainly be getting a thorough test.
Alan has been preparing for the trip for a while, including initial product testing off-road in the Peak District. Here are a few photos of how he had the bike set up just before it got loaded on a van for delivery to the airport…
We’ll post a test report and photos from the journey once Alan has returned to the UK in August.
